Since the firing of James Gunn the cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy have been very outspoken in their support for the director. By far the actor that has shown the biggest support for Gunn is Dave Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer.
Bautista has ironically used Twitter for much of his support for Gunn. Recently when asked if he would stay for third film of Gunn wasn’t rehired he said he would do what he was legally obligated to do.
Now he seems as though he has a different stance. In an interview with ShortList, Bautista says if Gunn’s script isn’t used for the movie he will ask to be released out of his contract:
“Where I’m at right now if Marvel don’t use that script, then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out, or recast me. I’d be doing James a disservice if I didn’t.”
Could his fellow cast members follow him if the script isn’t used? Only time will tell what happens. Keep coming back for the latest in blockbuster movie news and tell us what you think about Bautista not wanting to stay for the third film by tweeting us at @SuperBroMovies.
