‘JUSTICE LEAGUE’ Actor Joe Morton Shot More Cyborg-Centric Scenes That Could End Up In Solo Film

After Justice League, all hope had been seemingly lost regarding the solo Cyborg film that was being developed. Although Ray Fisher did a fantastic job in that film, we haven’t gotten a lick of information regarding his proposed solo adventure. Joe Morton, the man who plays his father Silas Stone, recently revealed he shot scenes in Justice League that could end up being used in the future.

In an interview with Slashfilm, Morton spills the beans on what he knows right now regarding Cyborg and his future in the DCEU. The first bit of information that’s surprising is the fact that he believes the Cyborg solo film is still being developed, and could shoot in 2020.

“I know there’s supposed to be a Cyborg movie they’re going to shoot in 2020, That’s all I know. I haven’t seen a script.”

As Slashfilm also notes, he could be referring to the 2020 release date that was set years ago and has been since removed. If not then Morton may have revealed we could actually see the film come to fruition.

Morton also reveals that he shot a ton of scenes that included both him and Cyborg, which was altered tremendously in the theatrical cut. The story was originally totally different from the one we got, but he won’t reveal the details because it may end up being rewritten for the Cyborg movie.

“There was [more we shot], They completely changed the story. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what [the original story] is because that might end up being in part of the Cyborg movie. Yes, there was a big change once they decided that they were going to do the Cyborg film.”

It’s been assumed that one of the main reasons the scenes were cut was Joss Whedon, but if they were to make way for the solo film that’s a lot more interesting. We have knowledge that Ray Fisher wasn’t the biggest fan of Whedon on set so who knows what will come of all of this. If the Cyborg movie ends up happening though, Morton says it would put more focus on Victor Stone’s family and his transition into the hero we know in the comics.

I personally really want to see a film focusing on the Justice League member, and these quotes from Joe Morton give me hope. However, the fact remains that we haven’t heard anything concrete besides his words. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get something soon that’ll settle the doubts fans have.
