Earlier this week, some concept art was posted online showing Tim Miller’s designs of Domino and Juggernaut in Deadpool 2. The concept art didn’t reveal much about how his version of Deadpool 2 would have differed from the version we got, but some newly released art has revealed that a surprising Marvel super team was set to cameo if Miller had helmed the project.
Conceptual Artist Alexander Lozano has been releasing Deadpool 2 concept art he did for Tim Miller over the past couple days, but he just dropped the biggest one yet. Tim Miller was going to have the Fantastic Four worked into the movie! That’s right, Lozano has posted concept art for Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four that would have starred Timer Miller’s Deadpool 2.
Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four cast includes Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell. While it’s no secret that Trank’s Fantastic Four was an utter failure in every sense and fans are hoping to never see that iteration of the characters again, it would have been bombastic to see them featured in Deadpool 2. The designs here are actually comic accurate contrary to the ones they wore in their 2015 film, and they no doubt would have played wonderfully off of Deadpool in the hands of Tim Miller.
The first Deadpool was famously directed by Tim Miller, and he was set to direct the sequel but stepped down from the project due to unknown “creative issues.” I can’t say I was disappointed with what Davide Leitch did with Deadpool 2, but after seeing this new concept art, I am sad that we’ll never see Tim Miller’s version of the film on screen.
What are your thoughts? After seeing this new concept art, would you have liked to see Tim Miller’s Deadpool 2 fully realized? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter at SuperBroMovies. –Caleb Sadd
