Ron Cephas Jones is making his rounds in the superhero genre. Outside of his emotional role in This Is Us, Jones has been circulating in and out of roles in shows like Luke Cage, and almost Shazam. Jones plays Bobby Fish in Luke Cage, which would be just his first involvement in a comic book adaptation.

It has now been announced that he has joined the cast of Venom. His role is unknown, and the film is done shooting so it’s unclear on whether or not he has already shot his scenes or will be apart of reshoots. Reshoots seem to be a stretch with the release date approaching soon, but it’s still very possible.

As far as his role went in Shazam was simply an offer. He was going to portray the Wizard that grants Billy Batson his magical abilities, but had to pass on the role due to scheduling conflicts.
