Micheal Peña To Play Dora’s Father In ‘DORA THE EXPLORER’ Film

The cast of Paramount’s Dora the Explorer continues to grow, as Michael Peña has signed on to star in the upcoming live action adaptation of Nickelodeon’s hit TV series. Peña will star as Dora’s father alongside Eva Longoria as Dora’s mother, bringing the young girl’s loving and devoted parents to life.

Dora the Explorer will follow the events of Dora’s life as a teenager, trading in the frightening setting of the jungle for the unpredictably awkward and sometimes terrifying challenges of high school. Along the way, she and boots will have to figure out a way to save her parents from certain danger all the while facing the daily struggles of an adolescent life.

Peña will no doubt bring some of his comedic talent to the role, having won over audiences everywhere in Ant-Man and its sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp. That’s not to say Peña will be shy to show off some dramatic skill however, having starred in the David Ayer thriller End of Watch, where he earned much praise for his performance.

The film will directed by James Bobin, perhaps best known for directing the 2011 hit, The Muppets. Bobin also directed its sequel Muppets Most Wanted, as well as 2016’s Alice Through the Looking Glass. Dora the Explorer stars Isabela Moner, Eugenio Derbez, Temuera Morrison, Eva Longoria, and Michael Peña.
