Production is currently underway for DC Universe’s Doom Patrol, so it was only a matter of time until we got our first look at the cast. It’s now with us, and I must admit, they look astoundingly great.

The Doom Patrol will be made up of a ragtag group of unconventional heroes in Robot Man, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl,  Crazy Jane and more. In the first photos from the set, you can see how DC is tackling the odd looks of the characters.

I think they look GREAT. It’s evident they’re going for a comic-accurate aesthetic and I’m all for it. Robot Man was likely the hardest sell, but I think they nailed it (Brendan Fraser will lend his voice for the character). The rest of the cast also look fantastic, let’s just hope the show itself won’t disappoint.  When DC Universe finally launches Titans later this year, the Doom Patrol will show up in that show first before they spin off into their own story.

Cyborg is also set to appear, portrayed by Joivan Wade (The First Purge). We have it on very good authority he’ll also use a practical suit similar to Robot Man, but with some CGI touchups.

Doom Patrol is set to star April Bowlby, Brendan Fraser, Diane Guerrero, Joivan Wade as Elasti-Girl, Robot Man, Crazy Jane, and Cyborg respectively.
