While Disney has already made a final decision about James Gunn it seems the drama surrounding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is not over. After a recent interview, it seems that one of the stars in the series may be unsure of his involvement in the new film. Due to Disney’s treatment of the James Gunn situation, Dave Bautista is unsure if he will be returning.
Recently Dave Bautista was on the Jonathan Ross show, where he was asked about appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. To which he replied,
“There’s a bit of an issue. It’s a bitter-sweet conversation. Um, no it’s a bitter-bitter conversation because I’m not really happy with what they’ve done with James Gunn. They’re putting the movie off. It’s on hold indefinitely. To be honest with you I don’t know if I want to work for Disney.”
Bautista’s role has been very uncertain for some time now with him originally saying he would fulfill his contractual obligation, then saying he would leave if Gunn’ s script was not used. The whole situation is very difficult for all parties as the character of Drax is such a huge part of the Guardians and the MCU as a whole.
Hopefully, we will get some updates soon about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 but for now, we will just have to wait for any further developments. For the full interview look below.
