The Toronto International Film Festival has been running this week. Many films have seen their debut here, attempting to garner awards spotlight. Film festivals are also a place for unmade films to be pitched and bought to distributors. Today, a top tier talent duo have announced a new film.
Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Looper) will write and direct the movie called Knives Out. It will star Daniel Craig (Spectre, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as a modern detective tasked with solving a classic whodunit style murder mystery. Craig was able to sign on to this after Bond 25 lost its director Danny Boyle and needed to be pushed back. Johnson will make this movie before settling in to direct his Star Wars spin-off trilogy.
