It’s here folks, we now have a hint as to what Joaquin Phoenix may look like with the Joker makeup. Todd Phillips, the director of the film, has posted a video on his Instagram that shows a camera test that was conducted for Phoenix, while some eerie music plays over it.

This is only our second ‘official look’ at him, and it doesn’t disappoint whatsoever. Check out the video below:

Anyone who was on the fence about this casting should be at ease now. Keep in mind that this test also could look nothing like what they end up using in the final cut of the film. Phoenix looks like he’s going to bring a completely fresh take of the Joker to the big screen. From the grin, to the smile, Phoenix seems like he’s aiming to freak some people out.

Phoenix is paired with the talents of Robert De Niro and Zazie Beetz in his upcoming film, so there’s a solid chance that this film can escalate the way we see the Joker and the story to be told about him.
