Look’s like Harley Quinn’s nest just got another egg. (Because birds)
Academy Award nominated Rosie Perez has just been announced to have joined the cast of DC’s Birds of Prey as Gotham City detective, Renee Montoya. According to The Wrap, Montoya is described as a detective working for the Gotham City Police Department. She is openly gay and recently in the comics, has taken on the mantle of “The Question.”
Perez has an accomplished career ranging from White Men Can’t Jump to co-hosting The View. I have no doubt in my mind she’ll be able to bring the tough-as-nails persona to the big screen.
This news comes just a week after the announcement of Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Mary Elizabeth Winstead had been as Black Canary and Huntress. I’m sure we will hear more on this film as production ramps up in the coming months.
What do you think of this casting? Does it get you excited for the film? Let us know your thoughts @superbromovies on Twitter!
