‘TITANS’ Renewed For Second Season Ahead Of Series Premiere

With Titans slowly approaching its release on the DC Universe streaming service, audiences have been intrigued by this dark rendition of the Teen Titans due to the publicity photos and trailers that have come out. It turns out that the show has captured a large enough audience to warrant a second season even before its October 12 premiere date. Executive producer Geoff Johns has recently confirmed at the show’s panel at New York Comic Con that it is being renewed for another season.

In addition, Johns stated that the show will be focused on the character of Raven and how she brings the other Titans together, meaning that she will be a major force in this first season:

“The first season does take our Titans on a journey as they unlock the mystery of Rachel. Harkening to the original comics, the first storyline was really about Raven and how she brought these characters together, and we have a similar connection. [Raven] is kind of the sun that everyone revolves around.”

With other original programs such as Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, and a Harley Quinn animated series scheduled to premiere on DC Universe in the future, the fact that Titans is being renewed prior to its premiere could signify similar audience engagement for the shows to follow. We shall see if general audiences and Teen Titans fans will be interested in seeing a second season of this series once the first season is released in its entirety.
