EXCLUSIVE: Wes Anderson’s Next Film Sets Spring 2019 Production Start

Wes Anderson has created a colorful universe of entertaining stories. Ranging from films like Moonrise Kingdom, Fantastic Mr. Fox, to Grand Budapest Hotel, Anderson has established himself as one of the most interesting filmmakers of our time. One of his most ambitious characteristics is the use of practicality. His sets, his character models, everything revolves around practical effects. Now we have exclusive news regarding his next untitled film.

As far as production goes, the start date will be somewhere between February and April of 2019, with shooting beginning in Europe. No one has been cast yet, but the film wants to find a 10-year-old boy of North African or Middle Easter descent. It is unclear whether this is the lead or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.

The feature film being helmed by none other than Anderson himself, will have production backing by TFD Productions, Indian Paintbrush, as well as Isle of Dogs producer Jeremy Dawson. Paintbrush and Anderson have collaborated prior to this film too. Douglas Aibel will be in charge of casting for the film, with help from Matthew Glasner.

The film is in the very early stages but we can anticipate another wonderful adventure by Mr. Anderson. With aspects like plot details still being withheld for obvious reasons, we won’t know much until Anderson wants us to.
