ORIGINAL REPORT- Marvel’s newest hero is here to stay. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has a seven-picture deal to play Carol Danvers.
Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are known for locking down actors and actress into long-term deals. The original Avengers’ contracts, other than Robert Downey Jr., are set to expire following the release of Avengers 4. It appears that some, if not most, are set to step away from the MCU leaving it open for stars like Larson to move into the forefront.
The seven-picture deal will kick off when Captain Marvel released next year and will continue into Avengers 4. The remaining five can be assumed via a process of elimination. Larson is likely to get her own trilogy of solo films, which Marvel tends to do with their big heroes. That leaves three films, which could be a continuation of the Avengers franchise or a new team-up series of films, which has been hinted at by Feige in the past.
It was also mentioned by THR that Larson will be paid $5 million for her first solo outing. To compare, RDJ only made $500 thousand for the first Iron Man, although, it was a gamble at the time to hire him due to his history.
