RUMOR: ‘KINGSMAN: THE GREAT GAME’ Eyeing Brad Pitt & Rachel Weisz

The WWI prequel film to the Kingsman franchise might be getting some A-list help from an ”Inglorious Basterd” and a ”Mummy” killer.

ThatHashtagShow is reporting that Brad Pitt and Rachel Weisz are being courted for the upcoming prequel, which is rumored to shoot back-to-back with Kingsman 3.

Another rumor has stated that Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter franchise) and Harris Dickinson are taking on the roles of the Duke of Oxford and his son “Conrad,” respectively.

Weisz is being looked at for the role of “Polly,” Conrad’s nanny, who is described as a ruthless force of nature and instrumental in raising Conrad to stand up to his father.

Pitt is being looked at as one of the villains of the film, Grigori Rasputin. Rasputin was an influential figure in Russia in the early 1900s, will also be joined by key figures of WWI: Gavrilo Princip and Margaretha Zelle. A quick history lesson; Princip is the man who assassinated Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand which was one of the inciting incidents of WWI.

Other rumored historical figures include Irish General Herbert Kitchener, who is described as a close friend of Conrad’s father, and with him is his aide, Max Morton, who may not be all that he seems.

It looks like Mathew Vaughn is leaning more into history than his last two Kingsman outings. This could definitely lend itself to a more engaging story but only time will tell.

What do you think of these casting rumors and character rumors? Do you want Kingsman to lean more into historical fiction? Let us know what you think @superbromovies on Twitter! -Kellen Murack
