‘BREAKING BAD’ Movie In The Works From Creator Vince Gilligan

Heisenberg could be making his return. According to Collider, a Breaking Bad movie is in the works, with creator Vince Gilligan set to write the script.

The project, which is going by the working title Greenbrier, is set to begin production later this month in New Mexico. If you’re unfamiliar with the critically acclaimed show, the entirety of it was shot in the Land of Enchantment. Sony is reportedly attached to the movie, meaning it’s possible that it’s intended for a theatrical release rather than releasing on AMC, although that is not confirmed as of yet.

Gilligan is writing the two-hour movie, with eyes on directing as well. He’s developing the continuation of his hit series with Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. It’s unclear if this film will act as a sequel or a prequel to Breaking Bad. To add to that, Collider is unsure if any of the original cast will appear. Only time will tell.

Breaking Bad began its run in 2008 and told the story of chemistry teacher Walter White (Bryan Cranston), whose descent into crime led to him becoming the drug kingpin Heisenberg. In 2015, a spinoff of the series titled Better Caul Saul, centering around Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman, debuted on AMC.
