We now know when the next Marvel blockbuster will land in the timeline. According to Disney’s Japanese website, Captain Marvel will be set in 1995.

A Reddit user came across this information while searching the official Marvel section of the site. If you scroll down the page, a paragraph that discusses the Brie Larson led movie sheds light on the setting, saying: “The stage was 1995. The story before the formation of the Avengers.”

The exact year the movie is placed has remained a mystery since it was revealed it was an MCU prequel. Earlier this week, Larson tweeted an image which featured MTV Rock the Vote posters from 1992. That led to speculation that the movie takes place the year prior, but that seems to have been put to rest.
