Star Wars fans will have plenty to keep them busy in the coming years, with JJ Abrams’ Episode IX set for release next Christmas, and a brand new season of The Clone Wars is well into development. Jon Favreau has been hard at work on the very first live action Star Wars TV series, The Mandalorian, and we can add another beloved Hollywood veteran to an already stacked list of cast and crew members.
Rocky and Predator star Carl Weathers has reportedly come aboard Job Favreau’s upcoming Disney+ series, which revolves around a lone gunman in the outer reaches on the galaxy. Clone Wars mastermind Dave Filoni is set to direct the pilot episode, with Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World) sharing directing duties as well. Rumor of Weathers’ addition to the cast came courtesy of MakingStarWars last month. Considering their track record with Star Wars reports in the past, their word is certainly credible.
There’s no word yet on who Weathers might be playing, but it’ll certainly be fun to speculate on until we know for sure. He’s held his own against big screen legends such as Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, so there’s no doubt Weathers will bring his unique flair to his role in a galaxy far, far away.
