CBS is looking to bolster their arsenal of Star Trek streaming shows once again. It seems their plan is to make Trek a cornerstone of their service CBS All Access. This new idea would be a spinoff of the current show Star Trek Discovery. Michelle Yeoh is in talks to reprise her role as Phillipa Georgiou.

Yeoh’s post explicitly names Section 31 as a likely subject for the new show. Section 31 is an intelligence organization within Starfleet that is allowed to work outside the normal Federation protocols. Trek is usually very rule based, but a show about the black ops team that works outside that while still in the Trek universe sounds very exciting. Avoiding spoilers, Season One of Star Trek Discovery perfectly sets up Yeoh’s character as someone who would fit on this team.
