This week’s episode of Titans brought the iconic team together but also introduced some characters for the reason of the season. The villainous group behind it all had yet been revealed, but we have now learned who the mysterious people were and what that could mean for the show.
Thanks to our friends over at the Titans Facebook group, we now know who exactly has been terrorizing the team over the past few episodes. Seen at the very end of Episode 5, the H.I.V.E. made their DC Universe debut. Their forces tried to take Dick Grayson but with the help of Jason Todd, they failed miserably.
In DC Comics, The H.I.V.E. stands for the Hierarchy of International Vengeance and Extermination. They are known as a supervillain terrorist organization. Typically comprised of scientists and trained forces, they are a familiar foe for the Teen Titans. For Titans, it will likely be a loose adaptation. There is also a possibility that Brother Blood could be connected to them in some way, possibly setting up a future villain for the show.
It is assumed Trigon will end up being the main baddie of the show’s first season. As we have already seen, the Nuclear Family’s handler, that has appeared in almost every episode, seems to be working for him. The H.I.V.E. organization probably has their criminal fingers in everything, so it’s safe to assume they are as well.
Titans stars Brendan Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Ryan Potter as Beast, and Teagan Croft as Raven.
