The highly anticipated Worlds of DC film, Birds of Prey has finally found its Cassandra Cain.

Variety reports that relatively unknown actress, Ella Jay Basco, is in negotiations to join the film as Cassandra Cain. This would be Basco’s first major role in a movie, after having minor roles in some tv shows.

Directed by Cathy Yan the film will feature Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth-Winstead), and Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) as they protect Cassandra Cain from the villainous Black Mask, played by none other than Ewan McGregor.

In the comics, Cassandra Cain is the daughter of villains, David Cain and Lady Shiva. She eventually goes on to become Batgirl.
