For fans of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the future of the franchise has seemed rather uncertain. Ever since James Gunn was fired by Disney and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was put on hold indefinitely fans have been waiting for any kind of update on the film. And thankfully it seems that news has finally come.
It was just revealed by The DisInsider that Marvel Studios is possibly looking at Travis Knight to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Knight has worked previously on Kubo And The Two Strings and the Bumblebee movie that will release later this year. He was also on the shortlist for The Eternals before Chloe Zhao was announced.
For fans of the Guardians, this is amazing news to hear. This could mean we will soon see steam for the film pick up and could see production begin sooner rather than later if Knight signs on for the film. As of now, however, we should still take the news with a grain of salt until it is confirmed by either Marvel or Knight himself.
