With Hobbs and Shaw currently in the midst of production, Baby Driver breakout star, Eiza Gonzalez, has joined the cast as a last minute addition.
According to Variety, executives at Universal Studios had wanted to bring in Gonzalez into the fold earlier in the production, but had to work out the scheduling conflicts with Legendary Entertainment. Gonzalez is about to start production for Godzilla vs Kong very soon.
Gonzalez will be joining an ensemble that includes Fast and Furious veterans, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, and newcomers to the franchise, Idris Elba and Vanessa Kirby. David Fincher is directing. It is unknown what role Gonzalez will be playing in the spin-off film. Hobbs and Shaw hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
