Wes Anderson is the unsung hero of indie films, and this new announcement might just push him farther into the hearts of his fans. Anderson is known for his stacked ensembles, and today he adds to that legend.
With his new film beginning shooting as of last week, that left The French Dispatch cast susceptible to some sightings. While many were led to believe that this film was a musical, a source close to this film’s production stated otherwise. It was said that this film is a “love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in 20th-century Paris and centers on three storylines.”
As for the cast, you’ll recognize the faces of Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, and Frances McDormand, as they have become regulars in the works of Wes Anderson. Some new faces will likely make an appearance too. These include Jeffrey Right, Benicio Del Toro, and Timothée Chalamet. Are these the three storylines? I could definitely see it.
Anderson is teaming up with his usual producer, Indian Paintbrush, and will most likely make its premier at the Cannes Film Festival. So, let the countdown begin!
