Dylan O’Brien Will Voice BUMBLEBEE In Upcoming Spinoff Movie

Since his time on Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien has shown us that he plans on having a future in the industry, especially with his lead role in the Mazerunner series, and American Assassin alongside Michael Keaton. Well, now he’s taking an even bigger leap!

What is being called Aquaman’s one competitor, Bumblebee is set to have a massive release. One known fact about the popular Transformer is that he lost his voice on the way to Earth, forcing him to communicate with gestures and noises rather. It seems that this time around, he will actually have his voice and Dylan O’Brien will be what we hear when the autobot speaks!

The producer of the film had a lot to say about this to IGN and seems very excited to share this news to the world. Check out what he had to say below!

Since we were approaching this as an origin story, we felt that it was appropriate that you got to hear his voice… That’s the simple logic that we employed. The longer term implication of that is different. But the short-term implication of that is, since we really are resetting the mythology, essentially, of who Bumblebee is. And so, that seemed to us to be the appropriate, to get the chance to hear what he sounds like.

As for Dylan O’Brien voicing Bumblebee, he had this to say:

Dylan has that great quality in his voice of youthful exuberance, and also sort of trustworthiness, I think those are the two qualities that we wanted Bumblebee to have.

They’ve tested his voice with audiences and everyone has reacted positively to it which is great news not only for production, but for us the fans as well. This film has been at the top of many peoples’ most anticipated lists, and rightfully so. The prequel seems as if it is going to give us a much more intimate look at what was the highlight of many of the previous Transformer films, Bumblebee.

We’re weeks away from this film’s premier so be sure to share with us how excited you are! Head over to our twitter and let us know what your thoughts are on the voice reveal! – JB Baker
