‘THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE’ Sequel Currently In Development

With the success of the recent Warner Bros./LEGO films such as The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie, the brick depiction of Batman, voiced by Will Arnett, has become one of the most iconic characters of the franchise. In fact, this character has appeared in all but one of the Warner Bros./LEGO films: The LEGO Ninjago Movie. According to LEGO Batman director Chris McKay, it turns out that it will be a while before we see the last of LEGO Batman. This is because McKay and the filmmakers are currently developing a sequel to the spinoff.

In response to a Twitter post praising The LEGO Batman Movie, McKay revealed that in addition to the character being prominent in the upcoming The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, he is currently working on a LEGO Batman sequel. No additional details are revealed for the film including the release date and plot synopsis, so his tweet exists primarily as an announcement for the upcoming follow-up to the LEGO Batman spin-off. For the time being, fans of the LEGO franchise and the character can rest assured that LEGO Batman will have more adventures of his own.
