A sequel to the 2016 hit is on the way. According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Scott Derrickson is returning to helm the Doctor Strange sequel for Marvel Studios.
The film, which will most likely follow the Sorcerer Supreme following the events of Avengers: Endgame, will see the return of Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, and Rachel McAdams. The search for a writer is currently underway for the project.
A sequel to Doctor Strange has been rumored for Phase 4 for some time. Most of the films that will release post Endgame have been kept under wraps, with the full announcement unlikely to come until SDCC 2019. At this point, we knew we would see Spider-Man: Far From Home, Black Widow, The Eternals, and Black Panther 2 in the next few years, but now we can add Doctor Strange 2 to the list.
