DC Universe just landed another big-time actor. According to Variety, Community star Joel McHale has joined the upcoming Stargirl series as Sylvester Pemberton, aka Starman. His role is being described as “Golden Age Starman.”

Sylvester Pemberton made his first appearance in Action Comics #40 in 1941 as Star Spangled Kid. He eventually changed his name to Skyman and became the leader of Infinity Inc.

You’ll likely remember McHale from his various TV roles, including his hosting position at The Soup from 2004-2015. He’s also appeared in movies such as Spider-Man 2, The Happytime Murders, and Ted.

Stargirl will follow Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger), a high school student who enlists the help of a group of heroes to take on villains from her past.
