Just a day after casting Joel McHale as Starman, DC Universe has added another Golden Age hero to its ranks. According to TV Line, Lou Ferrigno Jr. has joined the cast of Stargirl as Hourman.
Ferrigno Jr. is, of course, the son of The Incredible Hulk’s Lou Ferrigno and actress Carla Ferrigno. His credits include stints on How I Met Your Mother, Bones, and CBS’ S.W.A.T.
Rex Tyler, aka Hourman, is a founding member of the Justice Society of America and has been a staple of DC Comics since 1940. His abilities allow him to gain super-strength for one hour a day. In 2016, Rex Tyler appeared in the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow, portrayed by Patrick J. Adams.
Stargirl, which will be the third original series produced for the DC Universe streaming service, has already amassed an all-star cast. Brec Bassinger will star as the titular hero and will be joined by McHale, Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal, and Christopher James Baker.
