‘VICE’ Director Adam McKay Has Discussed Helming ‘GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3’

With James Gunn having been fired from directing the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, there has been a lot of speculation as to who will take over directing duties. Although no one has been confirmed to helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 yet, it turns out that Vice director Adam McKay has recently spoken with Marvel Studios about directing the film. This does not mark the first time McKay has been associated with an MCU film since he served as a co-writer on the first Ant-Man.

On the most recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, McKay not only speaks about his involvement with GOTG Vol. 3, but also reveals that he had discussions with Marvel about making an Inhumans movie:

We’ve talked a little bit, yeah. I mean, we were kicking around the idea of The Inhumans at one point. We’re always kind of talking, I think [Kevin] Feige’s just the greatest and I think what they’re doing over there is amazing.

While McKay does not reveal the other filmmakers in the shortlist to direct the movie, fans can rest assured that there is potential for McKay to take the reigns from Gunn. Perhaps his experiences with writing Ant-Man will be enough for the producers to consider him as a viable choice.
