‘CAPTAIN MARVEL’ Runtime Confirmed By Various Theater Chains

With the release of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Captain Marvel, coming in the next few months, tickets will be on sale across several theater chains in the near future. To prepare for early ticket sales, theater chains such as AMC, Regal, and Harkins have updated their listing for the film with a new runtime. Although the exact length varies between the chains, the movie clocks in at roughly 129 minutes, meaning it exceeds the two-hour mark by a small margin. Images via MCU Cosmic.

This runtime falls in line with the length of the majority of MCU films, with Captain Marvel having a similar runtime as the three Iron Man movies and Thor: Ragnarok. By the same token, this means the film will be shorter than the Avengers films and Black Panther while being longer than the Ant-Man films and Doctor Strange.

Given the effects-heavy nature of MCU films as well as its tradition for post-credits stingers, it is likely that the main portion of Captain Marvel will be exactly two hours, leaving the extra nine minutes for credits and extra scenes. As such, we will have to wait until its March 2018 release to find out how those 129 minutes will be used.
