When news was confirmed that Tom Hiddleston was attached to the upcoming TV series based on the life and times of the God of Mischief, many assumed the actor would be reprising his role and giving fans more of the cunning and calculated rightful King of Jotunheim.
Hiddleston himself even took to Twitter to hype fans for the coming stories to come. Following his death at the hands of Thanos during the events of Avengers: Infinity War, fans were thankful for the opportunity for a return to greatness for the villain many consider the greatest in the MCU.

However, if our friends over at That Hashtag Show are correct, fans may be in store for a Hiddleston-less Loki story, at least on-screen. According to Charles Murphy, Tom Hiddleston will serve as the narrator of the series and will recall events that have occurred over the course of Loki’s younger years.
While this is a rumor to be taken with a huge amount of salt and does not immediately count Hiddleston out as reprising the role he made so famous, it does open the doors for Marvel Studios to do something special with the character. Giving Loki the chance to grow up out of the shadow of Thor and set off on his own adventure during his adolescence or young adult years would give the character a lot depth and maybe paint a clearer picture of the things he holds near and dear to his heart.
Either way, it has been confirmed that Loki is a character Marvel is invested in and that Tom Hiddleston is on board to explore options in any medium to bring the character back to life for fans who are equally as invested.
