‘THE LOST BOYS’ & ‘NANCY DREW’ Pilots Ordered By CW

CW has rebooted a ton of shows and brought back some classic characters over the past couple of years. Riverdale, Charmed, The 4400, just to name a few. They do not seem to be stopping anytime soon. CW has just ordered pilots for Nancy Drew and Lost Boys. Nancy Drew is an American teen sleuth, and the Lost Boys is a classic vampire film from the 80s. These will be the newest of reboots added to the CW’s stacked lineup of television shows we have come accustomed to over the years.

Nancy Drew is a character created by Carolyn Keene and Edward Stratemeyer. The American teen sleuth debuted in books in the 1930s. There have been a few attempts at television shows on CBS and NBC. She also had a film in 2007 starring Emma Roberts (Nerve/We’re the Millers). The TV show will be produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

The pilot will be written by the duo and The Magicians’ writer Noga Landau. The show will be co-executive produced Lis Rowinski. Much like Riverdale, this show seems to be a murder mystery one. The show will revolve around an 18-year old Nancy, who is getting ready to leave for college. Upon a tragic death happening, she stays in her hometown to solve the murder.

The Lost Boys has been through a few loops to begin going into production. Originally the show was going to be an anthology series for CW. The show was being developed alongside Charmed, and Charmed was out first. The new show will be more like the original movie.

Set in Santa Clara, it will explore the underworld of vampires. It will be based around two brothers who have lost their father. They move to their mother’s hometown of Santa Clara with their mother. They soon stumble into the underworld of Vampires and fall into the world of the undead. The show will be executive produced by Rob Thomas (iZombie), Heather Mitchell, Dan Etheridge, Mike Karz, and Bill Bindley. The script will be written by Mitchell (Spellbinder).
