It seems that C. Robert Cargill will be reuniting with fellow Doctor Strange alum, Scott Derrickson, to bring the Master of the Mystic Arts back to the big screen. Cargill will be returning to pen the script for the 2021 sequel to Doctor Strange.
It was just revealed by That Hashtag Show that C. Robert Cargill will produce a script that Marvel will review before finalizing a deal. Cargill recently hinted that he was working on a secret project and according to this new report this could be it. Cargill joins Derrickson who recently signed on to the sequel to direct. It is believed that production on the film will begin the spring of 2020 for a release on May 7, 2021.
As of now, there is no word on what the story will entail but it has been rumored that it could feature the villain Nightmare, with a large focus given to Baron Mordo’s character arc. This was confirmed some time ago by Cargill during a Q&A with Movie Web. And if this is still the case, Marvel fans are in for quite the film.
