Matt Reeves sat down for en extensive interview promoting his new television show. Eventually, the topic of his next feature film project The Batman came up. He teased many aspects but went into just enough detail on some things to appease fans.

Reeves reiterated that he want his film to focus on Batman as the world’s greatest detective. He called his film a “point of view-driven, noir Batman tale.” The unfolding mystery will provide a revelation in the narrative and “allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”

As of now the title is The Batman, but it could ultimately change. When asked about casting, Reeves immediately responded “there will be a Rogues Gallery”, hinting at multiple villains. As for the release date, it’s Reeves’ impression that the film will “be for 2021, late spring or summer.
