If anyone can reboot or carry on a popular film story, it’s Denis Villeneuve. After Blade Runner 2049, it became apparent that he knows how to work with pre-existing material. With Villeneuve being signed on to remake a film on the book that gained popularity with David Lynch’s film adaptation, news has recently begun to flow on the project.
Now, Zendaya (Spider–Man: Homecoming) is in talks to join Denis Villeneuve’s Dune reboot! This means she’ll be joining the likes of Oscar Issac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) as well as Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name). Oscar Issac is set to play the father of Chalamet’s character. Zendaya will play his love interest in the film.
Villeneuve hasn’t made a bad film yet. He’s co-writing the script with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts, as well as serving as a producer for the film. The Dune reboot is stacked with extremely well-rounded individuals and already feels like it’ll make waves in the awards season. Joining Chalamet, Issac and Zendaya also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, and Stellan Skarsgård.
