‘ARROW’, ‘LEGENDS OF TOMORROW’ & ‘RIVERDALE’ Among 10 Shows To Get Season Renewals On The CW Network

During the Television Critics Association press tour, The CW Network has announced that they will be rewarding 10 shows with season renewals.

All the DC Comics tv shows will be back for another season as they are gearing up for the biggest crossover in the DC universe yet, Infinite CrisisArrow will be back for its eighth season, The Flash will enter its sixth season. While Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl will celebrate getting their fifth seasons respectively. Black Lightning will return for a third season. Batwoman has a pilot episode ordered by the network, if successful, it will become the sixth DC TV series on the CW.

BLACK LIGHTNING

Black Lightning is the only DC TV show that has not yet crossed over with the other shows, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that they could make their introduction to the rest of the Arrowverse in the upcoming annual crossover later in 2019. Jefferson Pierce, known as Black Lightning, had a big part to play during the events of the comic book, Infinite Crisis.

The other five shows that will return are Charmed, DynastyLegacies, Riverdale, and SupernaturalSupernatural, the longest-tenured show on CW, will return for its 15th season. Charmed and Legacies, surviving their first year on the network respectively, will begin work for their second season. While Riverdale will be gearing up for its third season. Hear what CW president Mark Pedowitz had to say about the renewals:

“This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday. Which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning. These shows provide a strong foundation for our multiplatform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.”

It is unknown at this time whether All-AmericanRoswell, New Mexico or the upcoming drama, In the Dark, will be renewed or not.
