It was not long ago, that reports surfaced of ABC developing a show focused on female superheroes based on Marvel Comics. Now, according to Deadlin, the project has not been picked up at ABC.
It’s unclear whether or not the hour long drama will be shipped off elsewhere. As the trend goes with Marvel Studios, nothing much is known about the project but one thing we did know that the script was created by the minds of Wonder Woman writer, Allan Heinberg.
The focus of the pilot characters was also not clear. Some theories include A–Force, Fearless Defenders, or a TV based team-up with Daisy Johnson, Bobby Morse, Agent 13, that could include other Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The recent saga of Marvel cancellations began with Netflix cancelling Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, with Jessica Jones & Punisher likely right behind. Now that Disney is working on its streaming platform, Disney+, we may have a ray of hope amidst all the cancellations.
