According to Fandango managing editor Erik Davis, a sequel to George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road could be in the works.
Following the news of Paramount pulling the plug on David Fincher’s World War Z sequel, Davis took to Twitter to reveal that he’s heard rumblings of another sequel being put into development. Davis went on to mention that it’s possible the film never sees the light of day and he had no other details to share at this time.
At one time, it was reported that a Furiosa spinoff film was being worked on as a follow up to the 2015 smash hit. That was soon put on the backburner as Miller’s production company Kennedy Miller Mitchell filed a suit against Warner Brothers regarding a bonus that Miller was owed. It’s unclear if the two sides have settled, but WB would need Miller’s consent to move forward with a new Mad Max film.

They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken.
