With Aquaman now being the highest grossing DCEU film, we have word that a spinoff is in development set within the underwater world. The new film will be titled The Trench.

Coming from The Hollywood Reporter, we now know that Warner Bros has hired Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald to pen a horror-focused script for the upcoming spinoff. The film will be produced by Aquaman director James Wan (who’s most well-known for his horror films) and Peter Safran. The film is said to take place in the kingdom of the Trench and won’t feature the main cast of Aquaman.

With no official word on an Aquaman sequel, this should make fans of the underwater adventure very excited. This expansion of they mythos and the world will sure to be something amazing.
