As its ninth season approaches, ‘The Walking Dead’ is losing yet another seasoned cast member from its roster.
As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Danai Gurira, who played Okoye in 2018’s domestic box office champion and recent Best Picture nominee Black Panther, will be departing the series after 7 years of appearing on the critically acclaimed television program.
Gurira, who has brought the character of Michonne to life since 2012, joins the likes of Lauren Cohan, Austin Amelio and and series star Andrew Lincoln who have also previously taken their leave from ‘The Walking Dead’ in recent years. However, several of these actors are likely to appear in the in the series of feature-length spinoff films going into production soon.
Gurira will likely be seen next on the big screen in Avengers: Endgame.
