One of the most hyper-violent, absurdist spoof franchises in modern cinema continues to pull in some fantastic talent for the upcoming prequel. A whole group of new actors will be joining Ralph Fiennes, Harris Dickinson in the WWI-set film.
Coming from Baz Bamigboye we now know Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron), Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia), Djimon Honsou (Guardians of the Galaxy, Aquaman), Alison Steadman (Orphan Black) and Tom Hollander (Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation).
Along with that, we have a few details on two of the characters in the film. Gemma Arterton will be playing the Nanny that helped raise Dickinson’s character and is described as a “ruthless force of nature” as rumored from a few months ago. We also know Tom Hollander will be playing three (3!?!) different characters in the film; George V, The Kaiser & The Russian Tsar which are all apart of Queen Victoria’s family tree.
If this cast doesn’t intimidate you a little bit then you’re much stronger than me. On top of this new crop of actors, Fiennes and Dickinson, the film will also include Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War) and Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man).
What do you think of this cast? Is it only a matter of time until Meryl Streep is brought on? Let us know your thoughts @superbromovies on Twitter!
