‘AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR’ Will Be At Least Two And A Half Hours Long

News regarding ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ has been the talk of the town since San Diego Comic Con wrapped up. Starting with the trailer being shown and not released, the reveal of the amazing concept art and finally, to the aforementioned trailer leaking. That wasn’t it though when it came to big headlines. During an interview with Collider, Director Joe Russo revealed what the runtime of the film will look like.

Russo revealed the news while talking to Collider’s Steve Weintraub after the Marvel panel had concluded:

“The current cut is over two and a half [hours]… Most of it’s a movie you could show, but there’s still a lot of work left to be done, I still have a couple of scenes that we haven’t finished from Avengers 3 that I’m shooting in the next few months with my brother, and it’s certainly gonna be a film that lives in the two and a half hour, two and a half hour-plus range.”

That is a long runtime, but it’s not one that is foreign to Marvel. ‘Captain America: Civil War’ ran for 2 hours and 28 minutes, while ‘The Avengers’ was just five minutes shorter.

The film is, as Russo put it later in the interview, “a culmination event”. It’s taking 10 years of movies and weaving them together. That was never going to be in done in anything less than 2 and a half hours.
