There has just been a huge shake-up with Fox’s planned Marvel releases for this year. Several of their upcoming films have now been given new release dates including Deadpool 2, New Mutants, and Gambit. As of now, it seems that X-Men: Dark Pheonix will release on its previously announced date.
Fox’s highly anticipated film Deadpool 2 will now be pushed up two weeks, releasing May 18 rather than its previous date of June 1. The move will pit the merc with a mouth up against the horror film, Slender Man but more importantly, it is now only one week before Disney’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The upcoming horror-tinged mutant adventure, New Mutants has been pushed back 10 months. The movie has jumped from its original date of April 13 to February 22, 2019. Insiders are saying this move is to prevent overlap with other X-Men films in certain areas overseas where New Mutants and Deadpool 2 would have been at the same time.
Finally, Gambit has now had its release date pushed back from February 14, 2019, to June 7, 2019. The film has just lost its director so now the studio will have to find a new one.
