In the months leading up to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Universal now has plans for a third film in the Jurassic World series. Colin Trevorrow, who co-wrote and directed the first film, will return as co-writer for Jurassic World 3 along with Pacific Rim: Uprising screenwriter Emily Carmichael. It has been now revealed the film is scheduled to release on June 11, 2021.
In addition to Trevorrow returning as a co-writer, he will serve as one of the executive producers alongside Steven Spielberg, who has produced all of the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films under his production company, Amblin Entertainment. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley will also return to produce the film.
Story details are not confirmed as of yet, but it is known that Trevorrow and Carmichael’s screenplay will be based on a story written by Trevorrow and regular writing collaborator Derek Connolly. Given the massive success of the original Jurassic World and the anticipation for the sequel, fans will further anticipate the third film now that the release date has been made concrete.
