Looking for Spider-Man: Brand New Day streaming? Short version: you can’t yet. As of Sep 28, 2026, the only place to watch it is a theater, and it’s still playing wide, in 2,409 theaters on its latest tracked weekend. The next step is digital rental and purchase, and that’s where it gets messy. Two dates are floating around, and Sony hasn’t put its name on either one. Here’s what’s actually confirmed, what’s only reported, and when it’s likely to hit Netflix and Disney+.
When is Spider-Man: Brand New Day on digital?
Honestly? Nobody outside Sony knows for sure. The movie opened in the US on July 31, 2026, and here’s where the reports stand:
- Oct 6 (reported Sep 27): When to Stream says it’s heading to premium video on demand on Tuesday, Oct 6, per Dark Horizons and ComicBook.com, on Prime Video, Apple’s store, Vudu (Fandango at Home) and Google Play. Even Dark Horizons notes Sony “has yet to officially announce or confirm” it.
- Nov 17 (reported Sep 24): Screen Rant reported that Sony is plotting a Nov 17 launch across PVOD services, the same day the discs are listed.
Here’s the catch. On Sep 19, Murphy’s Multiverse, citing Global Box Office on X, reported that Sony and theater owners agreed to keep the film exclusive to theaters through Nov 16. That’s a 108-day run. If that deal is real, an Oct 6 digital drop would break it. So the two reports can’t both be right, and no trade outlet has confirmed either.
Our read: Nov 17 fits the window deal, so that’s where we’d put our money. But we’ll believe any of it when Sony says so. Sony hasn’t announced a digital date as of Sep 28, 2026. The Direct even floated a projection as late as Jan 1, 2027, so treat every date you see as a guess until the studio confirms.
Price-wise, HD Report lists it at $29.99 to buy or $24.99 to rent in 4K. Yes, $25 for a rental. We’ll get to that.
4K, Blu-ray and DVD: editions and extras
As of Sep 28, Blu-ray.com still lists the 4K for Tuesday, Nov 17, 2026, with Blu-ray and DVD the same day per HD Report. One warning, though: ComicBookMovie spotted Nov 17 disappearing from “many listings” after the theater extension and thinks discs could slide into December. Check your retailer before you plan a movie night around it.

Prices are list prices from HD Report, and Amazon’s already knocking some of them down. The 4K is a native 2160p transfer with Dolby Vision and HDR10 in the 2.39:1 theatrical ratio, and the digital code redeems through Movies Anywhere.
Extras: Sony hasn’t announced any bonus features as of Sep 28, 2026, and Blu-ray.com still lists audio as TBA. A commentary and some behind-the-scenes featurettes would be the usual move, but nothing’s official.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day streaming: Netflix first, Disney+ later
It’s an MCU movie, but it’s a Sony release, so it doesn’t go straight to Disney+ the way Marvel Studios’ own films do. In the US, Netflix holds the first streaming window (pay-1) for Sony films. Netflix confirmed that it already has those rights in the US, and in January 2026 the two signed a new global pay-1 deal that rolls out territory by territory, with full global availability in early 2029. Deadline put it at more than $7 billion.
After Netflix, it moves to Disney. The 2021 Disney-Sony post-pay-1 deal covers Sony’s theatrical slate from 2022 through 2026, which includes Brand New Day. That’s the same pipeline that eventually put No Way Home on Disney+.
So when? No Netflix date has been announced as of Sep 28, 2026, and no Disney+ date either. What’s on Netflix says Sony films usually land on Netflix about 120 days after theaters, but big hits run longer (Across the Spider-Verse took 151 days). With the theatrical run stretched to mid-November, our guess is early 2027. The Direct’s projection puts Netflix no earlier than late March 2027 and Disney+ around September 2028, but that’s their math, not an announcement.
Outside the US, it’s a different clock. What’s on Netflix says viewers in the UK and Canada get it on local services first (Sky/NOW and Crave), with Netflix only in the later window, likely years out.
Why Sony’s taking its sweet time
Because the movie’s still printing money. Brand New Day has made $2.496 billion worldwide, including $950.7 million in the US and Canada. That makes it the biggest domestic release ever, past The Force Awakens‘ $936.7 million. Worldwide, only Avatar and Avengers: Endgame have made more.
When a movie is still in 2,400 theaters after eight weeks, why rush it to a $25 rental? If the Nov 16 window holds, Sony gets a full theatrical run, then a home release right before holiday shopping. Don’t be shocked if Disney runs the same play with Avengers: Doomsday in December.
Let’s be real: this rollout is a mess for fans
We get why Sony’s milking the box office. Still, a few things here are rough.
- Nobody will just say the date. As of Sep 28 there are two live digital dates (Oct 6 and Nov 17), a disc date that’s reportedly vanishing from listings, and a Jan 1 projection on top. Sony hasn’t confirmed any of them. Fans are planning around rumors from release-tracking accounts, and that’s on the studio.
- $24.99 to rent is a lot. That’s the listed 4K rental price, only $5 less than buying it outright. Just buy it at that point.
- The streaming split is confusing on purpose. Netflix first, Disney+ later, different rules in the UK and Canada. What’s on Netflix puts UK and Canadian viewers’ Netflix window around summer 2028. For a movie that’s literally in the MCU, “not on Disney+” is going to surprise a lot of people.
- $150.99 for the Collector’s Edition. A SteelBook, a comic, a relic card and a lenticular cover. Cool stuff. But Sony hasn’t told anyone what’s actually on the disc yet.
To be fair, the long theater run is kind of a win. It’s the rare blockbuster that got treated like an event instead of being dumped on PVOD after a month. We just want a straight answer on when we can watch it at home.
Where to watch Spider-Man: Brand New Day right now
- Theaters: Yes. It was in 2,409 theaters on its latest tracked weekend.
- Digital rent or buy: Not yet. Reported for Oct 6 or Nov 17; Sony hasn’t confirmed.
- Pre-order discs: The 4K, SteelBook and Collector’s Edition are up at major retailers.
- Netflix and Disney+: Not yet, and no dates. Netflix gets it first in the US.
