A fan-favorite mutant may be making her live-action debut in the next X-Men movie. According to X-MenFilms.com, The Orville actress Halston Sage will be playing Dazzler in Dark Phoenix.
This isn’t the first time Sage’s name has been brought up in regards to Dark Phoenix. Last year our friends at Omega Underground uncovered a photo that showed a headshot of the actress alongside other members of the cast. OU claimed that she would be playing Alison Blaire, although the information was never corroborated, at least until now.
In a tweet sent out by X-MenFilms.com, the site claims that Dazzler will appear briefly in the film with her powers on full display. They do mention, however, that she will not be singing, which could leave some fans disappointed as her musical talent has become a staple of the character.
At one point, Blaire was set to make an appearance, of sorts, in 2016s X-Men: Apocalypse. The character was to be seen on an album cover in the mall where Scott Summers and Jean Grey go to get out of the mansion. That scene would eventually hit the cutting room floor, leaving fans waiting for the long-awaited debut of Dazzler.

In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.
