It’s been two weeks since the release of Avengers: Infinity War and the world is still reeling from the film’s ending. If you have yet to see the movie yet consider this your spoiler warning.

At the end of Avengers: Infinity War we saw the Mad Titan Thanos beat the Avengers, resulting in many of our fan favorite characters fading out of existence. And while this alone was shocking we still don’t know what became of some beloved characters off screen. But now the directors of the film themselves have confirmed a number of characters who lived and died in the movie. Recently in an interview with the Huffington Post, the Russo Brothers let us know some extra characters that lived, died, and whose fates are too spoilery to say.

According to the directors, Seth Green’s Howard the Duck who has appeared in both Guardians of the Galaxy films survived Thanos’ snap.

In an interesting twist, the fate of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster is a bit of a spoiler. Anthony Russo clarified this by saying, “When we say spoiler, [we mean] potential spoiler,” This is rather odd given the last time we saw Jane Foster was in Thor: The Dark World, and it was revealed that she and Thor broke up in Thor: Ragnarok. So this could be interesting to see how she could potentially play into Avengers 4.

In what may be the most devastating reveal it seems that the actor (Matt Damon) who played Loki in Thor: Ragnarok is dead.

Betty Ross who appeared in The Incredible Hulk died when Thanos snapped his finger. Ross has not appeared in the MCU since her first appearance however her father has in both Captain America: Civil War and as a hologram in Avengers: Infinity War.

The Russo Brothers would not comment on the fate of the fan favorite rock monster and his friend. According to Joe Russo, their status is a bit of a spoiler. We take this to mean they will play some role in Avengers 4 perhaps alongside Valkyrie who was previously confirmed to have survived.

The Russo’s also would not comment on the fate of Shuri as it too is a spoiler. The current theory is that she will take over for her dead brother T’Challa as both the ruler of Wakanda and the Black Panther. But for now, we will just have to wait and see.

Joe Russo confirmed that Lady Sif is now dead. It has been some time since we last saw Lady Sif in the MCU. She was unable to appear in Ragnarok due to Jamie Alexander having scheduling issues at the time.

It looks like Ned’s fate is also a spoiler according to the directors. What role Ned could play in Avengers 4 given his best friend Peter Parker is currently gone remains to be seen. So, for now, we will just have to guess.

The Russo’s confirmed that Aunt May survived the snap. This is a win-lose scenario since it means we don’t have to know yet another fan favorite character is dead but it means that Tony Stark will inevitably have to tell her that Peter is gone. Whether this will be on screen or off remains to be seen but nevertheless, it still hurts to think of.

According to the directing duo, it seems that Nakia is off running missions for the nation of Wakanda. This is most likely why she did not appear in Infinity War. Alongside T’Challa, Okoye, and the cast of Black Panther.

For now these are the only off-screen characters the Russo’s have commented on but hopefully, we will get news about other characters soon enough. As for the characters whose fates are too spoilery it looks like we will have to wait and see what Marvel has in store for them.
