As Daniel Craig prepares for his last time in the spy world of playing James Bond, the Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli is now in the midst of searching for a replacement. Broccoli has an eye on who she wants to replace Craig as Bond.
According to director Antoine Fuqua, who spoke with Broccoli, revealed that it was time for the next Bond to be played by a black actor. Broccoli already has an idea of who she wants to play the longtime spy in Luther star Idris Elba.
“Barbara feels “it is time” for an ethnic minority actor to star as 007 and she is certain it will happen eventually. Idris could do it if he was in shape. You need a guy with physically strong presence. Idris has that.”
From the sound of it, it is possible that Fuqua could be a choice to direct the next James Bond movie after Bond 25, but we are still ways away from the movie happening. As we are set to potentially see the last time that Craig will put on the spy suit in Bond 25 which will come out in October of 2019. With Elba in line to possibly replace Craig as the next Bond, it is something to look forward to the future for.
