Perhaps one of the most exciting elements of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War was the big screen debut of Thanos’ loyal followers, the Black Order. The children of the Mad Titan posed a significant threat to Earth’s mightiest heroes, and the now fan favorite Ebony Maw even measured up to the immensely powerful Doctor Strange. Maw’s looks alone hinted a formidable and merciless foe for Marvel’s heroes, and now, we have some early looks at what could have been for Thanos’ most loyal servant.
Talented concept artist Jerad S. Marantz shared some brand new pieces of art on his Instagram, showcasing what he had in mind for Maw’s design in the early stages of Infinity War’s production. You can check them out below.
Despite his designs not making it into the final product, Marantz’s art does a great job at capturing the character’s frightening and otherworldly qualities. Ebony Maw emerged as the standout member of the Black Order quartet, boasting both incredible power and an eerie voice to match. Unfortunately for Thanos, his children did not make it out of the film alive, and the Mad Titan was noticeably affected by the loss of Maw.
Infinity War’s sequel, Avengers: Endgame, hits theaters everywhere on April 26, 2019. Keep it here for all the latest in entertainment news, and be sure to head on over to our Twitter for more.
