‘Star Wars Episode IX’ Gets Working Title

Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi has soared through the box office this weekend. What better time to announce the working title for Episode IX? Thanks to Fantha Tracks, we have the working title for Episode IX. They’ve revealed the working title for the newer Star Wars films under Disney. Today, they keep that tradition rolling.

This started in 2013 with them announcing the working title for Episode VII (Foodles Production (UK) Ltd.). They announced Space Bear Industries (UK) Ltd. for The Last Jedi, Lunak Heavy Industries for Rogue One. They also announced the working title for the scrapped Boba Fett film, and Stannum 50 Labs (UK) Ltd. for Han Solo with the working title of  Red Cup. This was confirmed by Chris Miller, then director of the film in a tweet:

Episode IX is being produced under the business name of Carbonado Industries (UK) Ltd. They were originally intended for the Han Solo project. The working title for Episode IX is Black Diamond. JJ Abrams has pitched his idea for Episode IX to Disney CEO Bob Iger. Production for the film will start in 2018, and the film will be released on December 19, 2019.
